SMS QR codes without a gateway

  1. Enter the destination number (international format recommended).
  2. Optionally draft a message (keyword, STOP codes, or short prompts).
  3. Generate locally, test a scan, then export.

There is no SMS API, short-code provider, or delivery dashboard in QRburst — only the URI inside the QR. That keeps the product private and free of telecom integrations.

When to prefer SMS vs WhatsApp

SMS reaches users without a specific chat app. WhatsApp may be better where that app is the cultural default. Offer the channel your audience actually uses — both tools share the same design, Lab, and print stack.

Frequently asked questions

Does QRburst send the text message?
No. The QR only encodes an SMS URI. The user’s messaging app opens with the number and optional draft text. Sending still requires their action and carrier plan.
Will every phone open SMS the same way?
Most phones understand SMS URIs, but composer behavior differs. Test on representative devices before printing thousands of stickers.
