Credential exposure

Anyone who can scan the finished QR may recover the encoded network name and password. Prefer a guest network, and regenerate the QR when credentials change.

  • Use large, high-contrast modules for guest-facing signs.
  • Prefer a generous quiet zone on textured walls or wood tables.
  • Label the sign clearly; CTA text is not stored inside the Wi-Fi payload.

More than encoding Wi-Fi

Guest-network guidance

Prefer a dedicated guest SSID when available. Do not display private/internal network credentials on public signs. Rotate and regenerate when staff or guests should no longer have access.

Display contexts

Table signs, front desks, guest rooms, and waiting areas map onto existing Print Studio presets (restaurant table, sticker, flyer, storefront). Suggested labels like “Scan to join Wi-Fi” stay outside the encoded WIFI string.

Frequently asked questions

Is the password stored by QRburst?
No. The SSID and password are encoded locally in your browser. QRburst does not upload or store them as part of generation.
Can people extract the password from the QR?
Yes. A Wi-Fi QR contains the credentials. Anyone who can scan it may recover them. Prefer a guest network for public signs.
What if I change the Wi-Fi password?
Generate and print a new QR. Static codes do not update themselves when credentials change.
