Geographic coordinates in a QR
- Enter latitude (−90 to 90) and longitude (−180 to 180) in decimal degrees.
- Optionally add a short label for context.
- Generate, test the scan path, then export for signage.
Example format: -0.1807, -78.4678 (Quito). Paste coordinates from a mapping tool if you already have them — QRburst does not fetch locations for you.
Device behavior varies
A geo: QR is a pointer, not a guaranteed Google Maps deep link. Some cameras open Maps; others show a prompt or do nothing without a handler. Treat that as a product constraint and verify before a storefront install.
Signage and events
Combine with event QRs for venues, or print alone on wayfinding posters. Prefer high contrast and Print Studio sizing so outdoor scans still resolve modules.
Frequently asked questions
- Does QRburst look up addresses on a map?
- No. You enter latitude and longitude directly. There is no geocoding or map-provider API in this tool.
- What happens when someone scans the QR?
- Compatible apps open a geo: URI. Exact map or navigation behavior depends on the device and installed apps — always test on the phones your audience uses.
