Encode an event in a QR

  1. Set the title and start/end times.
  2. Add location and description when helpful for posters or badges.
  3. Generate, style, and scan with a phone calendar or camera flow.
  4. Use Print Studio for poster or flyer sizes before a print run.

Floating local time (important)

QRburst uses floating local timestamps — not a locked UTC offset. That matches many simple poster use cases, but multi-city or travel events may need extra care. Do not assume every calendar client will show the same absolute instant worldwide.

Posters, conferences, and invitations

Event QRs shine on lobby signage, workshop doors, and printed invites. Pair with a location QR when attendees need both “when” and “where.” Details stay static — schedule changes require a new code.

Frequently asked questions

Does this create a live calendar invite server?
No. QRburst encodes a static iCalendar (VEVENT) payload in the QR. There is no QRburst calendar backend or RSVP service.
Which timezone is used?
Event times are encoded as floating local time (no timezone offset in the payload). Calendar apps typically interpret them using the device or app context. Always verify start/end on the phones you care about.
